STORK 2.0 - PORTABLE TELEREHABILITATION KIT FOR DISTANCE PHYSIOTHERAPY

Developed in cooperation with the Czech Association of Robotics, Telemedicine and Cybernetics, ARTAK.

A UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY IN THE REHABILITATION WHICH IMPROVES SAFETY BALANCE AND PERSONAL FUNCTIONAL INDEPENDENCE.

The equipment of the case enables the distance physiotherapy without direct supervision of a physiotherapist. The case consists of a tensometric platform with a therapeutic game-based software, a contactless optical sensor, an accelerometer and gravity sensor and a camera for a remote control and assessment of a physiotherapist. The system can be used as a supportive physiotherapeutic aid for the therapy of balance disorders, a core muscles and all limbs.

Sensors and software are intended primarily for the therapy and recovery postural and balance impairments of the patients with brain injuries (a stroke, traumatic brain injury), the patients with neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders), the patients after traumatic injuries of lower limbs (surgeries, injuries) and for the patients with a chronic vertebrogenic algic syndrome (musculosceletal dysbalance and dysfunction). Sensors for an upper limb are intended for the therapy and recovery of fine and gross motor skills of an upper limb and a hand, final motor skills of fingers, for an increase of a range of motion of a shoulder, elbow and wrist, and for an improvement of muscular energy of a hand minor muscles.

The whole system creates one therapeutic platform based on games which is intended to support active therapy of the patient in their own living environment after initial assessment and education with his/her physiotherapist. In this way it is possible to significantly extend the intensity and frequency of the therapy. Moreover, the system enables the physiotherapist to remotely assess patient´s therapy compliance, progress and results.

Portable telerehabilitation kit STORK 2.0 is intended to support active therapy of the patients in their own living environment after initial assessment and education with his/her physiotherapist. STORK telerehabilitation kit significantly extend the intensity and frequency of the therapy, without significant increase on price. There are savings in travel time needed to attend physical ambulance and transport cost reduction. Moreover, STORK telerehabilitation kit enables the physiotherapist to remotely assess patient´s therapy compliance, progress and results.

The device was developed under the auspices of the Czech Association of Robotics, Telemedicine and Cybernetics, ARTAK.
